Nantucket Builders AssociationFounded in 1996 and now celebrating 30 years of service, the Nantucket Builders Association (NBA) represents more than 300 Island-based licensed tradespeople, along with professionals involved in Nantucket’s broader building services and supplier community.
Our membership reflects the full spectrum of a typical design–build project, including general contractors, architects, surveyors, excavators, carpenters, plumbers, HVAC specialists, electricians, insulators, fuel suppliers, and other construction-related professionals. Town building officials and community leaders are also active participants. The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The NBA meets monthly to support its core mission of education, collaboration, and professional networking. For more than 20 years, we have helped local contractors obtain and maintain their Construction Supervisor Licenses through training programs and state-approved continuing education workshops. Each year, the NBA hosts 6–12 courses covering the core requirements of the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License, including: Energy, Code Review, Workplace Safety and Business Practices. Since 2001, the NBA has also proudly supported Nantucket High School graduates through its scholarship program. These scholarships assist students pursuing college, vocational education, or formal training related to the building trades, helping cover tuition costs and essential start-up tools. |
